If you work in human services you know that self-care is essential. The problem is finding specific guidance. Logically, we all know the importance of self-care, particularly in the context of trauma or difficult and emotional circumstances. However, habitually, we are preoccupied by the care of others and unclear about what effective and efficient self-care looks like.

 

This training gives participants evidence based theory and practices that work to increase our capacity for “being with”, whilst building resilience to burnout and empathy fatigue. Those in either professional or personal roles which require empathetic human connection have remarkably high emotional intelligence. This training teaches participants how to direct those skills internally as well as externally.

Find Your Balance is specifically designed to build the physical, emotional and mental foundations needed to avoid burnout and have longevity in roles that require emotional labour.

Professions that involve the daily support of vulnerable people, particularly within the context of trauma, NEED a professional self-care strategy that works from the inside out, is sustainable and authentic.

Introduction Workshop
This workshop showcases the benefits of the Find Your Balance program. 
 

This workshop is an initial introduction to the Find Your Balance Professional Wellness program.  When moving towards change it is important to first establish a deep understanding of  "the why"  behind professional self care. Then confidently commit to the full program .

Introduction Workshop – 2hrs
Part 1: Theory
  • Revisit your understanding of Professional Burnout, Vicarious Trauma and Secondary Traumatic Stress.

  • Develop a practical understanding of how this impacts you physically and mentally

  • Be introduced to a holistic approach using practical techniques mindfulness and self directed body work for building emotional resilience and the science behind why it works.

Part 2: Practical
  • Train in basic techniques for physical & emotional balance.

  • Learn to release tension from the body, stabilise the mind and build emotional resilience using gentle stretching postures and breath work.

Professional

Find Your Balance combines the science of mindfulness and self directed body work. Just sitting for long periods of time practicing mindfulness and meditation can cause intense physical pain and discomfort. Combining the wisdom of both is a holistic approach which honours the significance of mind AND body connection.

 

This course draws out your own natural emotional intelligence. The practices build the foundation for physical, emotional and mental clarity that will increase awareness, your quality of life and wellbeing.

More Information
 

Participants we learn to identify problem areas of tension in the body and ways to release that pressure. The practices introduce us to our individual stress response and how to move efficiently and fluidly move between action and relaxation. This sense of emotional and physical awareness means we are more relaxed, calm and centered whilst moving though out schedules and responsibilities.

Learning to be present and relaxed, in our day-to-day life increases lateral thinking and productively. When we are present and relaxed, we have more capacity to make healthy choices in our life.

Training Delivery Options

Option A –  6 Week Program (Newcastle LGA)

Option A

Introduction

 Program 

1 hr session per week for four consecutive weeks.

This option offers the ideal platform for team building, establishing connections and boosting moral in larger groups.

Min 10 people

Includes:  Guide Booklet , Access to Online guided meditations, access to upcoming events and retreats.

Host Organisation will also be issued with a unique assessment of the group and a Wellbeing Report.

Option to use my equipment free of charge or purchase starter packs for individual staff or the organisation.

Option B

 Full Program 

6x 2hr Workshops sessions offered weekly, fortnightly or monthly

This option offers more time for in depth discussion, exploration of the material and individual adaptions. A fantastic compliment to any professional supervision that already occurs. Max 20 people

Includes:  Guide Booklet , Access to Online guided meditations, access to upcoming events and retreats.

Host Organisation will also be issued with a unique assessment of the group and a Wellbeing Report.

Option to use my equipment free of charge or purchase starter packs for individual staff or the organisation.

Option C

1 or 2 Day Immersion Training

This option is the most time and cost effective. Ideal for organisations or larger teams working within tight budgets and limited availability 

This 1or 2 Day Training  will gift your team with the the theory and practice foundations needed to prevent and remedy the effects of burnout and vicarious trauma. Participants will experience firsthand the profound changes that can be made to their professional and personal liveswhen given the right tools.

Includes:  Guide Booklet , Access to Online guided meditations, access to upcoming events and retreats.

Host Organisation will also be issued with a unique assessment of the group and a Wellbeing Report.

Option to use my equipment free of charge(max 20 pax). 

Individual Sessions

Refund and Transfer Policy

Bookings require a 50% non-refundable deposit. Remaining fees will be payable following on from Session 1. Cancellation made with 14 days or start date will be credited.
